Audio Splitter

Split audio into multiple files using custom points, equal parts, fixed intervals, or silence. Preview each clip and download all MP3 or WAV files in one ZIP.

How to Split Audio

  1. 1

    Upload your audio

Select an audio file or drag it into the upload area. Check its duration and waveform before setting the boundaries.

  2. 2

    Choose split points

Play your recording and set custom cut points, choose an equal part count or time interval, or detect quiet pauses.

  3. 3

    Split and download

Choose MP3 or WAV and click Split Audio. Click a clip in the result list to preview it, then download the complete ZIP with automatically numbered filenames.

Choose Where Each Part Begins

Set boundaries for recordings, review the plan, and keep every section of the source audio.

01

Custom Split Points

Place several boundaries on one waveform and adjust the adjoining sections without changing the original recording.

  • Add, move, and remove markers
  • Edit cut times in seconds
  • Review cuts on one waveform
02

Automatic Splitting Modes

Choose a part count, time interval, or quiet pauses when splitting audio files. Review the cut points before processing.

  • Choose equal parts
  • Keep the final time remainder
  • Split at silence without removing it
03

Cut at Quiet Pauses

Find cuts using a silence threshold and minimum pause length. Set a minimum part length to merge short sections while keeping all source audio.

  • Set the silence threshold
  • Choose a minimum pause length
  • Merge short parts
04

Organize Long Recordings

Use topic breaks in lessons, interviews, and recorded talks to choose useful boundaries. The numbered parts follow the order of the source recording.

  • Divide lessons into sections
  • Separate interview topics
  • Choose custom chapter boundaries

Audio Splitter FAQ

How do I split MP3 into multiple tracks?
Choose an MP3 file and select Custom Points, Equal Parts, Fixed Duration, or Split at Silence. Adjust the cut points, choose MP3 or WAV, and click Split Audio. Preview the clips and download all separate files in one ZIP.
Can I set several split points on the waveform?
Yes. Add markers at the playback position or enter a time. Move available waveform handles, edit the time chips, or remove a cut with its adjacent button. Clear Points removes all cuts and returns to Custom Points while keeping the source audio, export settings, and saved ZIP. When the waveform is unavailable, the time inputs still let you manage the boundaries.
Can I split a recording into equal parts or fixed time intervals?
Yes. Equal Parts divides the recording by the part count and displays the resulting part length. Fixed Duration starts at 1 minute when it fits, or selects a shorter interval in seconds for short recordings. Longer recordings use a larger interval when needed to stay within the part limit. Switching units keeps the same interval. The final remainder is kept; adjust the interval if that remainder is too short.
Does splitting at silence remove quiet sections?
No. Quiet intervals provide cut positions, while all source audio is kept. Minimum Part Length merges short sections into the next part; a short final section joins the previous part. Set it to zero to turn off this extra merging.
Can I listen to the recording and the split clips?
Yes. Play and seek through the source to find each boundary, then edit the time chips or waveform markers. After splitting, click a clip in the result list to play it and click again to pause. Choosing another clip switches playback. The list always matches the saved ZIP, including when current settings have changed.
Will splitting change the audio quality?
MP3 is re-encoded with lossy compression and may include encoder padding. WAV uses 16-bit PCM and can produce much larger files. Neither option preserves every detail of the source encoding, and splitting does not improve the original audio quality.
How many parts can I create and which files can I upload?
Upload a supported audio file using the formats shown in the upload area. Create up to 50 parts of at least 0.1 seconds each. Silence mode can merge short parts; recording length and total output, ZIP, and memory budgets also apply.
Is my audio uploaded to a server, and how do I get the files?
No. Audio is read, split, and packaged locally in your browser. After all sections finish successfully, click Download ZIP to save the output files. If an operation fails, the previous completed result remains available when applicable.
