How to convert audio to MP3

  1. 1

    Add your audio files

Add or drop supported audio files into the list. Review names and playback before choosing a bitrate for MP3 output.

  2. 2

    Choose your output format

MP3 is selected at 192 kbps by default. Change the bitrate or choose another output format before starting a batch.

  3. 3

    Convert and download MP3

Start local conversion and follow file progress. For one uploaded file, Download saves the MP3 directly. For a batch, Download ZIP collects successful results; each row also has its own download.

MP3 conversion for your workflow

Export shareable MP3 files from supported recordings with one batch bitrate.

01

Create MP3 files from different sources

Bring WAV recordings, FLAC archives or supported M4A, OGG and AAC files into a common MP3 output. MP3 uses lossy compression, so source audio quality cannot improve.

  • Convert several input formats
  • MP3 preselected, five other outputs
  • Sample rate or channels may be adjusted

02

Choose your file-size balance

MP3 bitrate controls the approximate trade-off between file size and encoded quality. Higher values generally create larger files; changing a compressed source to a higher bitrate cannot restore detail.

  • Pick a supported MP3 bitrate
  • 192 kbps is the default
  • Check the actual downloaded file size

Prepare recordings for sharing

Export voice memos, short music clips or interviews as MP3 files for applications that accept this format. Browser playback support can differ from FFmpeg input support.

  • Use one format across a collection
  • Preview original audio where supported
  • Retry a failed or cancelled file

Keep every completed download

Files convert locally with progress shown per source. Change the output format or bitrate to convert the original files again; earlier downloads remain available until valid replacements are ready.

MP3 conversion questions

Which files can I convert to MP3?
You can choose MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG and AAC files as inputs. Actual support depends on their audio codecs and containers. The local engine validates each file before export; unsupported, corrupt or unreadable media are reported for that item.
Can increasing MP3 bitrate improve a low-quality recording?
No. Selecting 256 or 320 kbps does not restore sound already lost in an earlier lossy encoding. The setting controls the new MP3 export, and a high bitrate may create a larger file without audible improvement over its original source.
How many audio files can I convert at once?
The batch accepts up to 10 files on desktop or 5 on mobile. The combined input budget is 200 MB or 100 MB respectively. Long or large exports can still fail an output or memory budget.
What happens to MP3 sample rates and channels?
For MP3 compatibility, the encoder may resample unsupported sample rates to 44.1 kHz or reduce audio with more than two channels to stereo. If that adjustment occurs, the completed file includes a notice with the output values.
Can I convert an MP3 file to MP3 again?
Yes. An MP3 input is decoded and encoded again using the selected bitrate, so this is not a lossless copy. Re-encoding can remove more detail and does not guarantee a smaller result. Keep the original when you need the best available source.
Can I change the bitrate after processing a file?
Changing the bitrate keeps current downloads available. Click Convert audio to encode the original files again with the new setting. Valid results replace earlier downloads; failure or cancellation keeps them. Identical settings do not repeat completed work.
How do I download several MP3 files?
Each completed row offers a download link. Download ZIP collects all successful results, including any files converted to another output format. Unfinished or failed items are excluded, and large archives may exceed browser memory limits. For a single-file list, use Download to save the audio result directly without a ZIP.
Is converting to MP3 private?
Audio files are processed in your browser using a local FFmpeg engine; they are not uploaded to a conversion service. The engine may download code on first use. Results exist only in the current session, so save files before leaving.
