Video to MP3 Converter

Extract audio from a video in your browser. Choose MP3 or another audio format, adjust quality, then listen to and download the result.

How to convert video to MP3

  1. 1

    Choose your video

Select a local MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or M4V file. Preview the video when your browser supports its encoding.

  2. 2

    Choose an audio format

Keep MP3 or choose another output format. Adjust Bitrate for MP3, M4A or AAC, or Quality for OGG.

  3. 3

    Extract and download

Click Extract Audio to process the first audio track. Use the result waveform to seek when available, listen to the exported file, then download it to your device.

Turn video sound into useful audio files

Extract the first audio track for listening, editing or sharing. Choose an output format that suits your next task.

01

Extract audio in the format you need

Start with MP3 for everyday listening, or choose another audio format for your next step. Only the first audio track is decoded; the video picture is not converted.

  • Choose MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG or AAC.
  • Set Bitrate for MP3, M4A and AAC, or OGG Quality.
  • Listen to the actual exported audio before downloading.
02

Listen to talks without the screen

Keep the sound from a lecture, interview or presentation as a separate file. An MP3 is useful when you want to listen again without opening the original video.

  • Extract the recorded first audio track, without speech synthesis.
  • Start with MP3 at 192 kbps or choose a lower bitrate.
  • Download a separate file with the original video’s base name.
03

Prepare recorded sound for editing

Export WAV or FLAC when an audio editor needs an uncompressed or lossless container. Source precision is checked, but export cannot restore detail lost in the original audio.

  • Keep supported PCM bit depth when exporting to WAV.
  • Use FLAC for supported integer audio sources.
  • Source titles, track tags, chapters and cover images are removed.
04

Make audio copies for sharing

Try different formats for a recording you want to share. Your current download stays available while a new copy is processed, so a failed attempt does not replace usable audio.

  • Balance file size and quality with a supported bitrate.
  • Keep the previous export after cancellation or failure.
  • Use the result player when your browser supports the output format.

Video to MP3 questions

Which audio track does this tool extract?
The tool always extracts the first audio track in the video. It does not select a language or mix several tracks together. If that first track cannot be decoded, processing stops instead of switching to another track without your approval.
Which video files can I use?
Choose MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or M4V with real video and a supported audio track. Browser video preview is optional and does not determine extraction support. Audio-only files, including files with just a cover image, belong in Audio Converter.
Can I extract formats other than MP3?
Yes. MP3 is the default, but Output Format also offers WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG and AAC. MP3, M4A and AAC have Bitrate controls; OGG has Quality. WAV and FLAC do not show Bitrate. Compatible sample rate or channel adjustments appear in the result details.
Does extracting audio improve its quality?
No. The selected audio track is decoded and encoded into your chosen format. MP3, M4A, OGG and AAC use lossy encoding. WAV or FLAC cannot restore missing detail. Unsupported precision combinations are rejected instead of silently reducing source bit depth.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
Your video and exported audio stay in your browser. The processing program loads when you click Extract Audio; its download source does not receive your media. No account is required. Save the output before leaving the page because results are not stored online.
Can I convert a 2 GB video?
The file selection limit is 2 GB (2000000000 bytes). It is not a guarantee that every file will process. Audio duration, output format and device resources also matter. Large WAV or FLAC exports may exceed the output budget; try a lower-bitrate MP3 or M4A instead.
What happens when I change settings or cancel?
Your previous audio stays available while settings change or a new extraction runs. A valid new export replaces it only after output checks finish. Failure or cancellation keeps the old download. Replacing the source video clears the old result after input validation.
Why can I download audio that will not play here?
The processing engine and your browser’s player support different audio formats. A verified export can still be downloaded if local playback fails. Try a compatible player on your device, or export MP3 or M4A. Processing may also fail when device resources are insufficient.
