Audio Volume Booster

Make quiet audio louder with adjustable volume and clipping protection. Preview the changes, then export MP3 or WAV locally in your browser.

How to boost audio volume

  1. 1

    Choose your audio

Select one MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, or AAC file. Listen to Original before adjusting the volume.

  2. 2

    Adjust and preview

Set the volume from 50% to 300%. Listen to your changes and keep peak protection on to limit clipping.

  3. 3

    Process and download

Choose MP3 or WAV, then click Boost Volume. Compare the exported audio with the original and download it here.

Boost audio for everyday listening and sharing

Raise quiet audio, compare the change before export, and create an MP3 or WAV without sending your file to a server.

01

Boost with live preview

Adjust loudness before export and keep the original file available while you compare changes.

  • Preview volume changes instantly from 50% to 300%.
  • Use peak protection to reduce harsh digital clipping.
  • Process and export locally in your browser.

Quiet voice recordings

Raise the level of voice notes, interviews, or spoken clips that are difficult to hear.

  • Useful for quiet speech recorded too far from the microphone.
  • Background sound rises with the voice; this is not noise removal.
  • Preview the gain before creating the final file.

Music and audio clips

Make a quiet music clip easier to hear or reduce an overly loud source before export.

  • Increase or decrease the overall gain without editing the source file.
  • Peak protection limits loud samples when enabled.
  • This changes gain; it does not perform LUFS loudness normalization.

Podcasts and presentations

Prepare spoken audio for sharing when the source level is consistently too low or too high.

  • Adjust lectures, podcast clips, and presentation recordings.

Frequently asked questions

Is my audio uploaded?
No. Preview, volume adjustment, processing, and export run in your browser. The FFmpeg WebAssembly program may be downloaded from a CDN when you export, but your audio file is not uploaded to that CDN or to AudioBento.
Which files can I use?
Choose MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, or AAC with up to 2 channels and sample rates up to 48 kHz. Playback depends on your browser and the encoding inside the file. Export the adjusted audio as MP3 or WAV.
Is there a time or file-size limit?
There is no fixed two-minute limit. The current input budget is 200 MB on desktop and 100 MB on mobile, while the practical maximum also depends on browser memory, output format, audio duration, and device resources.
Why does the first export take longer?
The first export may download an audio processing engine of about 30 MB. Your browser usually caches it for later exports, although private browsing, cache clearing, or engine updates can require another download. Processing stays local and can be cancelled.
What does Prevent clipping do?
Prevent clipping limits loud samples after gain adjustment. It can change loud passages and differs from LUFS normalization. At 100% volume with protection off, Boost Volume shows a no-change message and skips processing.
Is the output lossless?
The tool decodes and re-encodes the processed audio. MP3 output uses lossy compression at the bitrate you choose. WAV output is uncompressed 16-bit PCM, but converting to WAV cannot restore detail that was already lost in the source.
Will the preview sound exactly like the exported file?
The adjusted preview uses Web Audio for immediate playback, while the final file is rendered with FFmpeg and its limiter. Both follow the same volume setting and peak-protection goal, but small differences can occur, so review the processed result before downloading.
Can I change settings after processing?
Yes. The original file remains available while you stay on the page. Changing volume, clipping protection, output format, or MP3 bitrate does not change the existing playable download or its listed export parameters. Run Boost Volume again to create a file with the new settings.
