Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add echo to audio online?
Choose an audio file, such as MP3, then select Slap-back, Room, Hall, or Cave. Adjust Echo Amount, Delay, and Decay, and compare Original with Preview. Click Add Echo to export the result as MP3 or WAV.
Can I add echo to a voice recording?
Yes. You can add echo to a voice recording or MP3 online. Slap-back gives speech, singing, and voiceovers a short repeat; Room and Hall use more widely spaced echoes. This tool edits existing audio files, not live microphone input.
What is the difference between echo and reverb?
Echo creates separate, noticeable repeats, while reverb blends many reflections into a continuous tail. All four presets here use delayed echoes with adjustable timing and decay. Their names describe starting styles rather than measured room acoustics.
What do the four echo styles sound like?
Slap-back adds short repeats that fade quickly. Room starts with a gentle, natural echo. Hall adds clearer repeats and a longer tail, while Cave has the widest spacing and slowest decay. Each preset sets Echo Amount, Echo Delay, and Echo Decay together.
What does Echo Amount control?
Echo Amount changes how strongly the delayed sound is added to the original recording. At 0%, the effect is bypassed and the source remains unchanged. Higher settings make the echo more noticeable while keeping the original sound present.
What do Echo Delay and Echo Decay mean?
Echo Delay sets the time before the first echo and between later repeats, from 20 to 2000 ms. Echo Decay is the percentage of amplitude each repeat retains from the previous one, from 15% to 85%. Higher values make echoes fade more slowly. Very quiet repeats are omitted, and the export includes the remaining tail.
Can I preview the effect and does it change the duration?
Yes. You can preview the entire recording and adjust effects before exporting. Delayed repeats can continue after the source ends, so the downloaded file can be longer. The Result player plays the actual exported audio.
Is my audio uploaded, and does this require AI?
No. The tool processes uploaded files locally in your browser using audio effects, without sending them to a server or requiring AI processing. Browser resources still limit which files and effect settings can be handled.
